The British Embassy in Germany is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Communications Officer,A2(L) based in Berlin.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To support strategic communications for the Germany network, on classic (including trade and specialist media) as well as social media platforms. To be able to run independent campaigns, prepare for press events, and accompany HMA and senior management or visiting ministers on media calls. To provide media handling at internal and external events, to place op eds and interviews and recruit suitable journalists for briefings. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research and support on media related work, i.e. set up and follow-through with briefings, interviews, reporting press at events.

Draft press releases and media invites. Compile media distribution lists and contacts.

Integrate social media strategy to any press activity. Implement social media messaging on all network channels.

Provide and adapt visuals to support digital messaging. Plan strategic communication for CG Munich.

Set-up and follow-through with briefings, interviews, reporting press at events.

Compile local and regional media distribution lists and contacts.

Plan prosperity messaging with UKTI. Provide trade and specialist media contacts.

Arrange interviews, opinion editorials and briefings with business and specialist publications.  

 

At least  2 years experience in a Communications role;

Experience in supporting Strategic & Marketing Communications social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram);

Experience in producing press releases, articles, newsletters or presentations;

Project management skills.
Editorial work experience.
Create info graphics.
