The British Consulate in Munich is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Senior Campaign Manager for the Automotive Sector, B3(L) based in Munich.

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To lead the campaign to increase UK exports to Germany in the automotive sector.

The UK government is revamping its export strategy in order to meet its high level goals of doubling the number of UK exporters by 2020.  As part of this, a more strategic focus is being introduced in key export sectors in important overseas markets.  This includes the automotive sector in Germany.  So this is an exciting time to be joining the team.  The UK car industry is enjoying a dramatic renaissance, with more cars produced in the UK last year than ever before.  So there are great opportunities to exploit.   

The successful candidate will be someone who thinks strategically and sees the big picture but is also very strong on organisation, delivery and stakeholder management.  The Senior Campaign Manager will play a pivotal role in designing and then implementing the strategy for boosting UK automotive exports to Germany.  There is much scope for creative thinking, new ideas and high levels of personal autonomy. 

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


•To design and lead a strategic campaign to grow the value of UK exports to Germany in the automotive sector.
•To provide high quality advice to UK companies on how to penetrate the German market, including identifying market opportunities.
•To build strong personal relations with key German companies to facilitate door opening for UK companies.
•To oversee other campaign activities such as organisation of events at key trade fairs/missions, working closely with colleagues in London HQ.
•To manage the Automotive Trade team.



 

  • Good knowledge of the German and UK Business Environments. 
  •  Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to research and analyse complex information.
  • Self Starter – ability to work well on own initiative
  • Fluent in German and English, both Oral and written.
  • Good IT skills, especially MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.


  • Experience of the German and/or UK automotive sector.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience of Customer Relationship Management software.
