View Vacancy - Deputy Antici (BEL312)
The UK Permanent Representation to the EU (UKREP) is looking for a Deputy Antici for the Private Office to the Permanent Representative in UKREP, based in Brussels.
The Deputy Antici will provide high quality efficient policy co-ordination, well judged advice and administrative support to the UK Permanent Representative, the Antici and wider Private Office and UKRep teams in respect of COREPER II, European Council and General Affairs Council business.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate and prepare COREPER and Antici meetings including coordinating, preparing briefing and reporting of the weekly meetings of Ambassadors.
- Organisation and support for the General Affairs Council and the European Council, including working closely with colleagues in London to provide excellent support for UK Ministers.
- Support for the wider team: including preparing briefings for briefing for meetings of the Permanent Representative with other Ambassadors; arranging travel and meetings as needed for the Antici team; and maintaining oversight of the A/I points process for Councils and COREPER, with the I/A points assistant; and ad hoc cover within PO team, in support of team resilience.
- Fluent command of English (spoken and written);

- Experience in solving complex and sometimes sensitive problems around both procedural and policy issues;

- Ability to work at speed and under pressure effectively.
- Good knowledge of French (spoken and written);
- Office administration.
This is a full-time, permanent contract, for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.
The monthly salary for this position is €3681.33, B3(L) level (The British Diplomatic Missions in Belgium salaries are not subject to annual indexation).
Please note that Belgian nationals will be paid their salary gross and are expected to comply with their tax obligations through completion of a tax return to the Belgian authorities. Non-Belgian nationals will receive their salary net, minus the deduction of an equivalent level of Belgian tax retained at source. Further information on this will be given to candidates during the recruitment process.
The successful candidates will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.
