View Vacancy - FPD Support Officer, UKREP (BEL427)
The UK Permanent Representation to the EU (UKRep) works within the EU and its member states to maximise British influence on issues such as trade, the single market and economic growth and is now looking for two capable and highly motivated FPD Support Officers who will support the Foreign Policy and Development (FPD) team in the delivery of its work to further the UK’s foreign policy objectives. This role will comprise administrative and policy support work.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Coordinating and developing visit programmes for senior visitors and organising events;
Providing PA support to the Foreign Policy Counsellor;
Administrative duties for the team as required, e.g. ensuring the smooth provision of classified EU material, arranging meetings and escorting visitors;
Attending seminars and other relevant events on policy areas;
- Representing the UK at working groups and committees as required, including taking the chair in meetings, intervening in discussions and sending timely and well written reports and advice to officials in London.
- Fluent English and operational French;
- Knowledge of the EU;
- Good organisational skills;
- Good communication personal skills.
Experience of organising events and visits;
Some experience working on policy and admin;
Knowledge of UK foreign policy.
We are offering a permanent full-time contract for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.
The monthly gross salary for this position is € 3,024.50 A2 (L) level (The British Diplomatic Missions in Belgium salaries are not subject to annual indexation).
Please note that Belgian nationals will be paid their salary gross and are expected to comply with their tax obligations through completion of a tax return to the Belgian authorities. Non-Belgian nationals will receive their salary net, minus the deduction of an equivalent level of Belgian tax retained at source. Further information on this will be given to candidates during the recruitment process.
The successful candidates will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.
