Communications, Press and Media

Main objective:

To be a member of the Press and Public Affairs team working in external and internal activities, according to the British Embassy in Bogotá objectives.

To work in the embassy communications section under the supervision of the Events Coordinator and reporting to the Head of Communications with responsibilities and accountability in the areas of:

Events (50%)

  • Arrange the logistics and provision of services (sometimes internally and sometimes with external providers) for Embassy events.  (For instance, accommodation, transport, catering, audio visual equipment, and special need requirements).  (I)
  • Arrange the logistics and provision of services for Residence Events. (I)
  • In liaison with HMA, the press team and PA\HMA, and embassy staff, to update and maintain an organize Embassy Events Planner and a Residence Events Planner (I)
  • Liaise with security manager to provide list of suppliers when it is required to perform activities at the residence for an event (I)
  • Maintain a database of service providers. Identify reliable and value for money providers, and build up good relationships. (I)

Chevening, GREAT, ILP programs (50%)

  • Student in Social communication, administration, or Journalism major.
  • Last semester of studies
  • No pendant subjects
  • Fluent English and spanish
