View Vacancy - Security Guard
The British Embassy, Muscat has vacancy for the post of a Locally Engaged Security Guard.
Objective:
To be part of a team which provide 24 hour cover to protect the premises, assets and personnel at both the Embassy and Residence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• 8 hour shifts guard duty at Embassy and Residence.
• Covering shortfall of staff as well as holiday relief and sick cover.
• Evening and weekend on-call relief cover for the Ambassadors driver.

Qualification:
Essential:
• This is an Omanised role. Applicants must be Omani nationals.
• Communication Skills: English and Arabic (sufficient to follow instructions).
• Experienced driver with full licence.
• Previous military or police service.
• Physically able to patrol and carry out searches.
Desirable:
• Previous guarding experience.
• Trained defensive driver.
Working Conditions and Remuneration:
The Embassy offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package for the role, including recreational facilities including a swimming pool and social club.
The role is for 42 hours a week split into 5 shifts followed by 2 days off. There are 3 shifts, morning, evening and night. Position holder should be flexible in their approach to hours worked as these will be dictated by operational needs.
