Finance

The British Embassy in Copenhagen, part of worldwide network representing UK political, economic and consular interests overseas, is looking for a Finance Officer. The Finance Officer is responsible for day-to-day finance tasks of the Embassy working closely together with Deputy Corporate Service Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities


Finance (70%)


  • Preparation of invoices and payments through the Global Transaction Processing Centre (GTPC), acting as the first point of contact.
  • Local payments
  • Oracle Housekeeping; Open Purchase Orders, GRNI and Invoices on hold
  • Oracle Requisitioner
  • Preparation & Submission of quarterly VAT reclaims
  • Support the Deputy CSM with funding profiles for local and UK expenditure.
  • Budget Manager for Rent, Uniform and Stationery budgets
  • Maintaining effective records
  • Monitor exchange rates
  • Support the Deputy CSM with wider forecasting data input.

Salaries and Pension Administration (20%)

  • Day-to-day point of contact for Payroll Provider
  • Engage with Payroll Provider for provision of necessary monthly Pay data for Local Staff
  • Reporting ATP and Pension information
  • Input Monthly Salary forecasting data into Oracle system

General (10%)

  • Initial point of contact for local Procurement advice
  • Back-up HR Oracle administration

Budget responsibility DKK 200,000.00


  • At least 2 years’ experience in accounting and budget management
  • Fluent in English and Danish, with great communication skills, both written and orally
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office
  • Organised Self-starter
  • Solution oriented
  • Practical Procurement Experience
  • Oracle experience
  • Accounting qualification
  • SharePoint Experience
