Main purpose of job :

The British High Commission has a large fleet of armoured and soft-skin vehicles that are vital to the smooth running of the UK’s largest diplomatic post. With business across Pakistan, the Transport Section is one of the busiest in the High Commission. As one of our pool drivers, you will be responsible for provide a driving service to diplomats and local staff in a professional, reliable and safe manner.  

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

  • Perform duties according to roster
  • Maintain journey record sheet
  • Make sure documents are accurately completed.(Approximate 10% of time)
  • Keep vehicle neat, clean and well maintained, upholding the high standards that we expect from BHC drivers. (Approximate 10% of time)
  • Conduct rigorous daily checks (engine oil, Brake Oil, Fuel Level, tyre pressure, Lights, washers and wipers) and ensure that the car is fully functional.(Approximate 10% of time).

Language requirements: 

Language: English   

Level of language required: Should be able to communicate in English and express himself, skill may be tested during the hiring process

Other skills / experience / qualifications: 

  • Essential on arrival: Higher Secondary School Certificate is required as a minimum;
  • Holds HTV/PSV licence and has 3 - 5 year experience as a HTV driver in NGO of international organisation.
  • Good Team Player
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to speak , read and write English.

Salary Details:  

For BHC candidates, the Local BHC Terms & Conditions will apply. 

For other than BHC candidates, Basic Salary will be PKR 62,023.

Working patterns:

This post is NOT suitable for people looking for flexible working. Selected applicant will work according to 09 -10 hour shifts roster (Day, Evening and Night) during both weekdays and over weekends which benefits from a shift disturbance allowance.
