The British Embassy in Azerbaijan is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a permanent, part-time Corporate Services Assistant/ Receptionist based in Baku.

Main Purpose of Job is to deliver professional customer service to the wider Embassy team by arranging timely and accurate travel/transport booking, facilitating and arranging migration registration to the staff and visitors, transferring calls/emails accordingly, organising local language exams for the UK diplomats.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating driver’s log book, overseeing transport requirements for the Embassy
  • Manage telephone switchboard
  • Visa and accreditation facilitation for the Embassy staff and visitors;
  • Drafting  and translating Note Verbales & other documents
  • Creating and receiving the purchase orders
  • Arranging travel and accommodation bookings for the Embassy staff and visitors
  • Line Manage the Embassy cleaner
  • Language coordinator for the UK staff
  • Distribution of emails from General Enquiries Mailbox
  • Act as the backup for Personal Assistant to the Ambassador and Deputy Ambassador
  • Other duties deemed operationally necessary by the Line Manager or Embassy Management
  • Excellent command of English and Azerbaijani languages (oral and written)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and handle multitasking
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge of good verbal Russian skills

This is a permanent part-time position of five working days, 20 hours net per week.

Please note that the working hours from 01st September will be from 13:00-17:00. However, from the start until the 1st September the new hire will be expected to work from 09:00-13:00.

The salary is USD 633.98 gross per month and shall be paid in AZN monthly.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Azerbaijan is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service of the FCO according to local labour legislation.
