MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The British High Commission is seeking a Campaigns and Partnerships Manager to join its communications team in Dhaka. This position is responsible for leading, delivering and partnering on priority communications campaigns to support UK priorities in Bangladesh. The ideal candidate will be: an energetic team player; fluent in English and Bangla; with experience of delivering end to end communication campaigns; excellent writing skills; can collaborate and build strong partnerships with diverse group of stakeholders; and an interest in international affairs, development programmes/public diplomacy.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure excellent line management of two members of staff (including digital manager), with timely appraisals, feedback, development, coaching and guidance.
Work with Policy and Programme teams to create, implement and evaluate audience-focused priority communication campaigns (including Britain is ‘GREAT’ a flagship campaign for UK Government; Climate Change; and Women and Girls). Ensure campaigns are integrated with the overall communications strategy and wider UK objectives.
Partnerships lead: collaborate with a wide range of key stakeholders to help coordinate, implement and deliver our communications objectives. You will be the main communications contact point for many of our partners including BRAC, UN, Manusher Jonno Foundation, and World Bank. Ensure effective communications is factored from the start as business cases are developed, in delivery, and when programme impact is assessed.

WHAT WE DO:

Dhaka is a large post comprising half a dozen government departments engaged in cutting edge work across UK Government’s overseas priorities. It includes Department for International Development, which is the biggest bilateral grant donor in Bangladesh; a large part of your role will be to support overseas development objectives. You will work closely with the British Council on public diplomacy initiatives to help achieve shared objectives.

The portfolio offers experience of a range of front-line policy areas (including development and poverty reduction, women and girls, climate change, and commercial diplomacy). As campaigns and partnerships lead, you will need to draw together all partners, (their objectives, activities and stakeholders) to develop audience focused campaigns.

- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years experience working in a communications field (preferably on campaigns).
- Fluent English and Bangla language skills.
- Excellent English writing and editing skills.
- Expert in stakeholder management.
- Ability to represent the High Commission in a diplomatic and impactful manner.
- Track record of strategic coordination of multiple strands of work delivered at pace.
- Proven ability to exercise good communication judgement.
- Flexible and resilient – able to adapt to changing priorities with ease.
- Confidence working with, advising and influencing senior colleagues.
- Successful candidates will have a background in working with and in international organisations.
For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Local Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates, the basic starting salary will be BDT 72,290 per month.
