Main purpose of job:
Delegation of day to day maintenance works, supervision and execution of work to maintain One HMG properties up to FCO standards and following FCO health and safety policies.
Roles and responsibilities
Daily Routine
- Delegation of day to day maintenance works, supervision and execution of work on time as per the yearly work schedule. Including servicing, preventative, routine anD breakdown works of plants and equipments and proper record keeping.
- Reduce the operation cost of the One HMG properties.
- Maintaining the digitised Technical Works Group (TWG) store and utility stores inventory in a secure and tidy condition; stocks at the optimum levels to meet any contingency disaster but kept to the minimum according to audit guidelines.
- Delegate day to day Maintenance Service Request forms and keep proper record of each request and properties.
- Verifying utility bills for on One HMG properties and provides a breakdown of personal and official consumption including PAG charges.
- Fill the supply request forms for requisition of materials required to complete the works.
- Receive and physically check the procured materials.
- Supervision of new projects/estimationestimation/quality and cost control/ensure works meet specifications.
- Co ordinate with outsourced company for agreed quality of service from them.
- The ability to prioritise work effectively under pressure.
- Ad hoc duties delegated by Estates Officer and embassy management.
- GPC procurement adopting P2P process.
Staff Management
- Line management of 7 members of staff in the technical works team.
- Guiding and coaching staffs with technical issues and solving problems.
- Allocation of duties and day to day works to staffs as per the estate Strategy; routine maintenance schedule, works requests etc.
- Maintaining the record of overtime, attendance, leave and submission above to management.
- Performance management of staffs, appraisal writing including line management responsibilities.
- Management of casual staffs for additional works.
Routine Preventative Maintenance works
Routine preventative maintenance works of refrigeration, electromechanical, electrical, communication and fire fighting equipments, accessories, machines, cabling, appliances etc. Including air conditioners.
Health and Safety
- Ensure and update all the health and safety equipments in the compound as per FCO Health and Safety Policy (HSP)
- Ensure Health and safety standards are followed by maintenance team as per FCO health and safety policy (HSP)
- Support contingency planning for the mission.
Communication and Network
- Liaising with technicians from local governmental offices (NEA, NTC, municipality, cable operators, suppliers and local authorities etc.)
- Regularly communicating with occupants regarding schedule of works and maintenance.
Resources managed
- Line management of 7 members of staff in the technical works team.
- GPC procurement adopting P2P process.
- The FCO cash operating system.
- Tools and equipment.
- Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/Refrigeration and AC Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant field.
- Proven staff management and delivering through a team.
- 2 and 4-wheel vehicle driving license.
- Computer literate – Word, Outlook (email) and Excel.
Basic knowledge of telephony, IT ,electrical and fire alarm system.

For other than British Embassy candidates, The total annual remuneration package for this position is NPR 634,623 which includes Provident Fund contribution.
