Additionally, Local Staff perform communication, press and media roles, as well as vital corporate and support roles such as Finance, HR and Procurement. Roles at the FCO are incredibly varied and rewarding, providing a variety of learning and development opportunities.

We deliver a modern Consular service. Our Consular services support British people around the world when they most need our help.  Consular work is both rewarding and challenging;  Rewarding because it gives the opportunity to make a real difference to people in distress;  Challenging because you will frequently help people suffering from bereavement, imprisonment, victims of crime or accidents, and those with mental health conditions.  We support our staff with comprehensive and continuous training and a wide range of wellbeing initiatives.
