Main purpose of job: Be a part of the Department for International Trade’s mission to drive more trade and investment between North America and the UK. DIT’s mission is to attract high value, high impact capital from major North American investors to help deliver on the UK government’s overarching strategic priorities. Based in Boston and reporting to the Sector Director for Capital Investment – North America, the Capital Investment Associate will work as part of a team located across North America with responsibility for driving strategic capital investment from the United States and Canada into all regions of the UK. The job holder will support the Sector Director and broader Capital Investment team in: a) setting strategic priorities, identifying new market opportunities and delivering the Capital Investment sector plan for North America; b) presenting the UK value story and DIT proposition to prospective and existing investors across a broad range of investor categories, industry verticals and asset classes; c) coordinating investor pipelines, tracking engagement and analysing overall sector performance; d) project managing investment missions and other promotional events that showcase capital investment opportunities in the UK; e) helping to organise high profile visits, such as Ministerial and VIP delegations; f) forecasting team expenditure; g) conducting research on target prospects, key accounts and relevant UK government policy; i) preparing meeting briefings and readouts, and updating CRM input. To be successful, the job holder will need to be strategic, analytical, and resourceful. S/he/they will have exceptional organisational and relationship management skills, the ability to analyse data and emerging market trends, as well as the creativity and communications skills to distill information and convey compelling and impactful messages to intrernal and external audiences at a senior level. S/he/they will be required to attend official functions and undertake occasional travel.
