The British Embassy in Moscow is recruiting for a cleaner to support the work within the Embassy. The Embassy has a team of cleaners who support the wider cleaning within the large embassy compound. This role is to work independently of that team, cleaning office space and other work areas over a set period of three days a week.

The successful candidate will be able to undertake standard cleaning duties such as vacuuming, dusting,  emptying bins, cleaning internal office spaces, desks, kitchens, bathrooms, caring for plants etc, whilst identifying any areas where additional tidying is needed.

Candidates must hold either British, US, Australian, New Zealand or Canadian passports due to the nature of security clearance required for this role.

 Roles and responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within office space, including stairwells and storage areas, whilst following relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Regular vacuuming of offices, wiping/sanitising desks, phones and bannisters to promote a healthy working environment.
  • Removal of waste from bins in the office space.
  • Caring for plants within the office areas.

 

A professional and organised manner; 

Strong customer service skills;

Excellent attention to detail. 

Previous experience of working in cleaning services is desirable.

This is a part-time (21h per week), fixed term (24 month) contract based at the British Embassy in Moscow. The role is advertised as three full days a week (21 hours in total), even though flexibility on timing is possible.

The Embassy site offers a number of excellent facilities open to all staff including a restaurant, gym, swimming pool and tennis courts. Staff can apply for training courses through out learning and development committee.
