Department for International Trade (DIT)

The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) helps businesses export and grow into global markets. We also help companies from overseas to locate and grow in the UK. In this role you will help achieve these goals by working at the heart of our operations both in Brazil and across Latin America and the Caribbean, where you will provide support to the Head of Trade and Investment and Operations Manager, financial processes, communications, special projects and events.

Roles and responsibilities:

Support to DIT Latin America & the Caribbean:

  • Preparation of weekly bulletin for all staff
  • Support event management of regional conference and events.
  • Provide support for LATAC Operations Manager with travel and expenses.
  • Support on ad-hoc activities such as internal documents and internal lists update and organisation.
  • Remotely support marketing team based in Mexico with bulletins/communications.

 Support to DIT Brazil:

  • Provide support to Head of Trade and Investment with travel and expenses.
  • Gain an insight into various industrial sectors by supporting teams across Brazil on business intelligence and company analysis work.
  • Communications: Support the running of the weekly DIT Brazil staff meeting
  • Special project: Assist with development of a study scoping opportunities for British innovation in Brazil
  • Events: Support and participate in business networking through event organisation.
  • The successful candidate should be a 2nd or 3rd year student in Business related Programmes, Economics, Accounting, or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) courses.
  • He/she must have intermediate written and oral skill in English and good communication skills in both Portuguese and English.  
  • Good command of Microsoft Excel is fundamental.
  • He/she must also be flexible, dynamic and pro-active.
