The British Embassy in Poland is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for an IT Support Officer to ensure delivery of high caliber IT solutions in BE Warsaw (approx. 135 staff), delivering innovation, quality and value for money and to deliver high-end operational and strategic IT projects in cooperation with KTD in London and wider IT support to FCO and OGD staff at post.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality IT support to all FCO and PAGs’ staff on the platform in cooperation with KTD in London, if applicable;
  • Deliver IT project solutions, present own ideas in line with the FCO rules considering feasibility at Post, oversee and control of delivery, if applicable;
  • Provide advice and support in delivery of effective and value for money IT systems and IT related solutions to senior management;
  • Lead on software training at Post including delivery of training for the Embassy staff, if required or in cooperation with relevant training bodies, if applicable;
  • Be the first point of contact for IT support at Post;
  • Lead on implementation of GDPR regulations in both IT and IT related areas at Post;
  • Manage the IT delegated budget and reporting of expenditure;
  • Cooperate with KTD, Interserve FM and FMCU with respect to IT system maintenance, repairs and new work implementation ensuring high standard of services and contractual terms are met;
  • Arrange for small IT equipment repairs, maintenance and disposal;
  • Administration of Echo phones, mobiles and smartphones;
  • Provide recommendation on IT equipment purchases, if applicable and manage the procurement processes.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in IT;
  • Completed university degree or equivalent in the IT field;
  • Management of Linux server and CMS systems administration;
  • Management of IT systems;
  • Administration of Active Directory, databases, webhosting, domains and subdomains, SSL certificates;
  • Management of virtual server vmWare ESXi;
  • Administration of routers; Wi-Fi services, Office365;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Self-motivated to seek innovative solutions ensuring value for money;
  • Responsible with a strong track record on delivering at pace;
  • Proficiency in Polish;
  • Advanced English
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Knowledge of SharePoint management;
  • Ability to fix small IT faults and maintain IT related equipment.

This is a full-time position of 5 days (37.5 net per week) for a permanent contract.

The gross salary for this position is PLN 8216 PLN gross per month. Working hours are flexible and staff are entitled to time-off-in-lieu for agreed extra hours worked. The annual leave entitlement is 20 or 26 days per year pro rata and the Embassy also enjoys a maximum of 14 Polish / UK public holidays per year.

Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by the local law.

The successful candidate will be subject to the Polish references check and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of three months.

Candidates must have pre-existing right to live and work in Poland for the duration of the job offer in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits
