Main purpose of job:
The British Defence Staff are looking for a cleaner who will be working in the private residence of the UK Defence Advisor, carrying out general cleaning duties as required, which includes ironing and laundry duties. The job has flexible hours which will be confirmed on interview and would suit a motivated, organized, self-starter who can work unsupervised and has good communication skills.
The post is for 30 hours a week which includes the options for coverage of health and pension benefits. This is an opportunity for a person who likes working in a close nit team set in a family resident setting.
Roles and responsibilities:
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the residency by carrying out general cleaning of bathrooms, bedrooms and communal areas which includes but not restricted to, dusting, hoovering and cleaning of floors and carpets as well as stripping and making beds; laundering and pressing of bedding and clothing as required, occasionally to tight timescales;
Flexibility to complete additional ad hoc tasks as required. Ability/willingness to assist with household functions/events would be an advantage.
Essential on arrival:
- Must be able to speak English to a conversation standard
- Experience of domestic duties.
