View Vacancy - JKT - DIT Project Assistant A2(L)
Main purpose of the job:
To support different teams within Department for International Trade at the British Embassy to deliver important projects, often within short time frames. Projects will include desk research, events, supporting comms activities, visit programmes and gaining experience working with different teams.
The Projects Assistant will gain a broad range of trade and investment experience which he/she can use to further progress their career within the embassy
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Conduct research work and prepare briefing notes for DIT sector teams and DIT Director
2. Support DIT events, including delegate identification and management, logistics support and event delivery support
3. Assist DIT comms activity as required, including social media activity (creating content, monitoring analytics etc)
4. Gain a wide range of experience covering temporary staffing gaps in DIT teams whilst hiring managers are recruiting. Experience may include meeting UK firms and Indonesian ministries, delivering events and corporate activities, such as monitoring performance.
5. Provide some basic administrative support (10%) to GREAT Investors programme and UK Export Finance leads (e.g. booking in embassy visitors, securing meeting rooms etc)
6. Support Director/Deputy Director with high value commercial projects outside our priority sectors; this may include setting up meetings for government to government lobbying
7. Manage the DIT general enquiries mailbox and respond to straightforward queries, escalating to senior officer as necessary.
- A Bachelor's degree majoring in subjects such as Economics, International Relations, or business
- Fluency in English both verbal and written.
- Proactive and a fast learner.
- Good understanding of current issues and some international exposure (e.g., studying overseas, working in a multi-cultural organisation etc.)
- Strong organisational skills and good judgement.
