View Vacancy - Inward Investment Support Officer (TUR18.714)
The British Consulate General in Istanbul is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit an Inward Investment Support Officer to join the Department for International Trade (DIT) team.
The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the United Kingdom Government’s international business development agency helping UK-based companies to export and succeed in the global economy as well as attracting sustainable foreign direct investment to the UK. Its range of expert services is tailored to the needs of individual businesses and provides companies with knowledge, advice and practical support.
The successful jobholder will support the Inward Investment team and the Head of UK Export Finance (UKEF) on meeting their targets and enabling the completion of daily activities as a team member.
In more detail, main responsibilities will include:
Identifying key players and potential investors in relevant sectors for the Inward Investment team and UKEF (when relevant); secure relevant introductions / appointments when necessary;
Managing contact lists of both Inward Investment and UKEF, completing project details on CRM systems/databases for Inward Investment, and developing and maintaining an online database for UKEF contacts and financial deals;
Provide general support for administrative needs of both teams, which may include preparation of presentations, writing briefings, support to visitors (i.e: coordinating with security), organise travel logistics, maintaining Client contact lists etc.;
Participate and support meetings with Clients or multipliers where applicable;
Assist both the Inward Investment team and the UKEF manager in organizing/managing pipeline development events.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a multinational organisation, preferably in business development area;
Good written and oral communication skills in Turkish and in English;
Graduate of a reputable university;
High relationship management skills (both with the Clients and service providers);
self-starting, professionalism, confidence, proactive and persistence to call on companies and other stakeholders to generate leads;
Ability to prioritise, efficient time management, good planning and problem solving skills;
Good networking skills;
Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Previous experience in working in a similar role;
Experience in working in an international environment and virtual teams;
Having participated in organising events/seminars.
This is a permanent full-time contract for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.
The monthly salary for this position is 1,447 USD gross A2 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.

The successfull candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and a probation period of 2 months.
