Housekeeper

The British Embassy in Tunis currently has a vacancy for a Residence Chambermaid; grade S3 to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing excellent service with a sense for details. You will organise your time effectively while taking into account the Residence occupant needs and meeting high hygiene standards. You will collaborate with the wider Residence Team and be prepared to work flexibly whenever required.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Cleaning

• Cleaning duties on the private side of the Residence

• Supporting Residence staff preparing bedrooms and bathrooms on the formal side of the Residence whenever needed (VIP Suite and upstairs CP bedroom)

• Assisting with deep cleaning of main kitchen

Laundry

• Laundry duties

• Ironing

• Liaising with Residence occupants to organise for dry cleaning

Others

• Supporting cleaning tasks for "Dar Hassine" and Residence amenities

• Being responsible setting up cleaning products requirement

• Inform the Residence Manager of any maintenance requests

• Fluent in Arabic

Working hours and remuneration:

Conditioned working hours are 42 hours gross per week split as follows:

• Monday to Friday: 09.00-16.30 = 37 hours/week (including 30 min lunch break)

• Saturday: 09.00-14.00 = 5 hours/week

• Sunday off

• Public Holidays off as all staff unless special arrangement is needed

The British Embassy in Tunisia offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role. Initial salary will be TND 734 per month while on probation. Salary after probation is TND 898. This is a full-time, fixed term contract for one year renewable.

The successful candidate will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.

The appointment will also be subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.

Eligibility:

Candidate must be eligible to work and reside in Tunisia immediately.
