The British Embassy in Sofia is part of the United Kingdom’s diplomatic service, a worldwide network representing British political, economic and consular interests in Bulgaria. The British Embassy in Sofia is looking for an Intern for the Corporate Services Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review the state and usage of the Embassy workshop, propose and implement follow-up actions e.g. refurbishment of the office, reorganisation of the storage areas etc; 
  • Assist with the implementation of various Estates projects;
  • Provide support to delivering large events- e.g. Queen`s Birthday Party, Embassy Quiz night etc;
  • Support the Corporate services team (and occasionally other teams) with ad hoc tasks.
  • Able to gather information from a range of relevant sources inside and outside;
  • Proactively contribute to the work of the whole team and be open to taking on different tasks;
  • Work with Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Handle numbers confidently, collate information ensuring accuracy of data;
  • Fluent in English and Bulgarian both spoken and written.
  • Driver`s licence;
  • Interest in space planning and estates projects.

This is an internship position (36 hours per week) for 6 months.

The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance. Anyone with right of residence and employment in Bulgaria may apply, including all EU / EEA citizens and the family members of EU / EEA nationals exercising a treaty right in Bulgaria.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy is subject to terms and conditions service according to Bulgarian employment law.
