The British Embassy in Poland is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a Clean Growth Key Account Manager Trade - Poland to join the Department for International Trade (DIT) team, in order to help UK companies succeed at accessing high value business opportunities in Clean Growth industries across the region.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) promotes British businesses worldwide. Building the global appetite for British goods and services DIT works with UK-based businesses to ensure their success in international markets making sure that companies in the UK can export their goods to the wider world.

Main responsibilities will include:


  • Supporting the Trade Team in Poland in driving the clean growth campaigns to deliver high value wins for UK companies;
  • Identifying opportunities for UK companies as well as market barriers in clean growth sectors in Poland and the region;
  • Matching the UK offering in clean growth to local market opportunity to help optimise UK business development in Poland and the region;
  • Promoting opportunities in the Polish clean growth sectors to British companies and relevant business organisations and promoting UK capabilities in clean growth to relevant Polish stakeholders;
  • Establishing and maintaining relations with relevant external stakeholders, i.e. government & industry stakeholders to support Poland’s transition towards low carbon economy and to introduce UK experience to the Polish market;
  • Working with senior stakeholders in the UK and local contacts in Poland to deliver performance targets in the clean growth space;
  • Supporting on delivery of events and projects under the clean growth campaign, including bidding for funding, cooperation with internal and external service providers and stakeholders, logistics and communications/media coverage, budget management;
  • Continues updating and monitoring of market barriers and interactions with stakeholders;
  • Co-operate with DIT’s European teams and relevant UK departments (BEIS, DfT, OLEV, UKEF, etc.) in support of clean growth related campaigns;
  • Co-operate closely with other Embassy teams, relevant external stakeholders and DIT colleagues across the CEN region.
  • Fluency in Polish and English (both oral and written, minimum C1 level*);
  • BA/BS degree or higher;
  • At least 2 years’ experience in working in a relevant business environment;
  • Proven track record of business development and in delivering results;
  • Experience at developing relationships with customers and stakeholders;
  • Strategic commercial and economic awareness;
  • Ability to identify relevant market opportunities;
  • Proactive, goal oriented and outgoing personality with strong commercial acumen;
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment;
  • Strong IT skills in MS Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Business experience in the clean growth related business, preferably climate or energy sectors or a relevant NGO;
  • Some experience in project management, including managing budgets;
  • Practical experience in delivering events/webinars and using different communications channels, including social media;
  • Basic knowledge on international trade.

This is a full-time fixed-term position of 5 days (37.5 net per week) for 2 years with the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement.

The gross salary for this position is PLN 8,462 gross per month. Working hours are flexible and staff are entitled to time-off-in-lieu for agreed extra hours worked. The annual leave entitlement is 20 or 26 days per year pro rata and the Embassy also enjoys a maximum of 14 Polish / UK public holidays per year.

Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by the local law.

The successful candidate will be subject to the Polish references check and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of three months.

Candidates must have pre-existing right to live and work in Poland for the duration of the job offer in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Warsaw are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to Polish employment law.

Working patterns

BE Warsaw has a strong commitment to work/life balance. Office hours are 8:30 – 16:30, staff are encouraged to leave on time. Flexi-hours are also possible within the Embassy building’s opening hours (0800-1800).

We have mobile technology and most staff in the team work from home one day a week in normal circumstances.
