The Post Security Supervisor (PSS) is responsible to the Post Security Manager (PSM), Regional Overseas Security Advisor (RSA) and Post Security Officer (PSO) for the supervision and management of the contracted guarding force and any assigned Diplomatic police, working alongside a second PSS to implement established security guidance and protocols. The job holder is the first point of contact for resolving or escalating all day-to-day security-related matters for the Embassy, as raised by staff (155) and drawing on installed protection and communication systems.

Language Requirements:
Language: English/Spanish
Level of Language Required: CEFR B2 level equivalent (or higher) for both English and Spanish, verbal and written.
Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right at time of application.

The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference checks.
Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of 12 months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
Working patterns:
The role involves early and late shift patterns to cover the embassy opening hours and additional events.
Shift 1: Mon-Thurs 07:00-15:00 / Fri 07:00-13:00
Shift 2: Mon-Thurs 10:00-18:00 / Fri 10:30-16:30
Shifts may vary and overtime will be necessary at times. Some weekend work may be necessary. The succesful candidate will be expected to be flexible and work overtime where needed.
The job holder will hold the duty phone on alternate weeks for emergencies on an on-call basis, for which they will receive an allowance.
