Who we are :
The British Embassy in Kyiv is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Corporate Services Protocol Officer to join our Corporate Services Team.
The purpose of the role:
To provide a quality service and support on Protocol issues. Also, to provide administrative support and cover for other team members in the Corporate Services Team.
The role entails:
- UK staff pre-arrival/arrival/departure related activities;
- Accreditation of diplomats’ Arrivals & Departures;
- Issue ID cards;
- Full assistance with logistics and freight;
- Drafting correspondence;
- Vehicles registration/deregistration, insurance;
- Customs clearance;
- Hotel Contracts;
- Creating requests in the Finance on-line platform;
- Hotel bookings;
- Train tickets booking;
- Covering Transport Officer while absences;
- Purchases within the allocated budget;
- Any other admin ad-hoc tasks that could arise, including providing cover for colleagues as required.
The ideal candidate will:
- Proficiency in the languages-English and Ukrainian, C1 level and upwards based on CEFR.
- IT literacy, including use of MS Word.
- Analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Be resilient when working under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian languages.
Good to have:
- Previous experience in dealing with administrative duties.
- Previous experience of basic financial management.
- Minimum 1-year of demonstrable work experience in customer facing roles.
- Experience working in an international organisation.
This is a full-time temporary contract (Maternity cover), for 40 working hours per week including 1 hour per day for lunch.
The start date mentioned in the advert is just an expected start date. The appointment can start earlier or later depending on several factors.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Kyiv is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Ukrainian employment law.
This is an official employment, and the salary is subject to official tax; currently 19.5%. The salary is a set rate and there are no additional allowances on top.
