The British Embassy Dubai is looking for a Regional L&D Co-ordinator to work with the International Academy.

The International Academy provides learning solutions to meet the needs of the UK Government to support learners in doing their jobs more effectively, based on specific organisational needs. The International Academy has teams based across the globe. We partner with British Missions (Posts) to ensure learning is based on performance outcomes and aligned to UK Government priorities. We work to ensure that learning activities are designed to best-practice L&D standards, based on research and contribute to building a positive learning culture within the workplace.

We are looking for a reliable, hard-working, resourceful Regional Learning & Development Coordinator who has a background in L&D, with attention to detail, and gets things done with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will provide administrative and logistical support to the MENAAP L&D Team, manage our budget, act as the key person on communications with our customers, and support our online and face-to-face learning activities. 

 

Duties and responsibilities:

The jobholder will

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan & Pakistan (MENAAP) L&D Team;
  • Be the first point of contact with our customers and lead on outgoing communications for the team;
  • Promote and help organise team and regional L&D events and activities;
  • Collaborate with our global team to deliver on projects to meet strategic and operational priorities;
  • Support our online learning platforms, including being the super user of GLO, our learning management system;
  • Ensure our L&D events and activities follow our evaluation process and are correctly recorded in our Account Management system;
  • Manage the team budget and procure goods and services.
  • There is also an opportunity to contribute to regional projects in areas of interest, such as visual design, writing and communications, video and audio production, system administration, etc.

The above list is not exhaustive and may be subject to change and the jobholder will be required to be flexible and take on other tasks as required, including participating in the Embassy’s emergency planning and any response to a crisis.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an operations/ admin role within an L&D team.
  • 2-3 years of experience in organising virtual sessions.
  • Strong IT skills and literacy in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) and able to learn new IT systems.
  • Numerate to be able to manage a simple budget process.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and spoken. Able to express ideas and messages clearly and concisely, both orally and in written communication.
  • Be able to work autonomously and use initiative within agreed guidelines.
  • Culturally aware to be able to collaborate across teams globally and with stakeholders from different countries.
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A passion and enthusiasm for customer service.
  • Project management or project administration skills

The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including: 25 days of leave per annum; on-site swimming pool, gym, and sports facilities (subject to COVID-19 restrictions).

Salary is at AED 11,363 per month.

There are no other allowances payable as part of this package. No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.

Effective 01 January 2022, the Embassy will be open from Monday to Friday, from 07:30 to 18:00. Conditioned working hours are 38 hours per week (including breaks), and specific working hours for this role will be confirmed at a later time.

This is a regional role supporting a team of L&D Advisers split across a variety of locations. The jobholder will be co-located with some members of the team in Dubai, but the rest of the team are located in other Posts within the region. The jobholder will be also be expected to be available occasionally out of normal working hours to join project and all staff meetings (virtually).

The successful candidate will be required to transfer their visa under the Embassy's sponsorship.
