The British Trade Office Al Khobar has a vacancy for a Senior Trade & Investment Advisor under the Department for International Trade.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the British government’s lead department for international trade and supports foreign investment into the United Kingdom. This is an interesting and varied role located within the British Trade Office (BTO) located in Al Khobar, and comes at an interesting time as the relationship develops between both countries.

The successful candidate will lead on and promote opportunities within the UK Education and Training (E&T) sector across the whole KSA network. They will understand KSA market trends and ambitions to identify valuable Export Opportunities and secure high value Export Wins in pursuit of regional (Middle East & North Africa) targets for DIT.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships strategically with UK providers, the E&T Cluster Lead, DIT Sector Group, the British Council, and KSA stakeholders to identify KSA E&T needs. Translate these into solid Export Wins for UK providers.
  • Develop and maintain a Strategic Relationship Management (SRM) approach for key interlocutors in the Education sector.
  • Stay informed of key trends and trajectory of the Education element of V2030 goals.
  • Engage senior influencers across KSA to support objectives.  
  • Create and deliver a business plan and market strategies to direct activity.
  • Deliver events e.g., trade missions, inward and outward visit programmes.

Salary details:

  • Base Salary including Eid bonus - SAR 13,578.14
  • Housing Allowance - SAR 3,394.53 (subject to eligibility)*
  • Travel Allowance - SAR 400 (subject to eligibility)*

*Allowances are not payable to staff who receive official provision for such expenditure in some other form.

No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.

Normal working hours for the Embassy are 08:00 to 15:00 Sunday to Thursday. This position is full-time, based on 35 hours per week.

The jobholder should be flexible in their approach to hours worked as these will be dictated by operational needs and may involve working out of hours, especially during events and visits. There may also be requirement for some travel, both internationally and within Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.

Eligibility:

The position is available to Saudi nationals and holders of Saudi residence permits or transferable Iqamas. Successful candidates will be required to transfer their sponsorship to the British Embassy.
