View Vacancy - Education and Training Analyst
Main purpose of job:
The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the UK government agency that helps foster UK Exports and Inward Investment. DIT officers at overseas posts liaise with the UK headquarters and other departments across the British Government to generate revenue to the British economy.
As Education and Training Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering the Education LATAC Campaign in Brazil, assisting in projects and events, writing reports, establishing close contacts with UK educational institutions and assessing education commercial opportunities in Brazil. You will also be responsible for the team’s administrative tasks and for regularly updating our client-management database.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with improving bilateral trade and relationship between the United Kingdom and Brazil in Education, especially through supporting the delivery of the team’s commercial and trade policy strategy. You will be responsible for:
• Proactively identify and make contact with Brazilian education companies to assess their demands for imported solutions from the UK, including through cold calls
• Assist with trade missions, seminars, webinars, export opportunities, and other events to promote UK-Brazil partnerships across the Education and Training sector
• Liaise with internal teams, and external contacts at an executive level, networking at events
• Conducting research and reporting on routes to market, key contacts and potential partners for those companies.
• Organising visits and events for companies coming to Brazil to follow up on the research reports they have commissioned, including briefings and meetings with potential partners and key industry bodies as well as product launches
• Monitor Education market trends and contribute to sector’s strategic planning
• Assisting the account management of key companies in Brazil and in the UK
You will also provide operational support to the Education team by maintain client relationship records, databases of contacts and other relevant data; helping ensure the smooth running of the team by performing day-to-day administrative duties, including managing expenses and dealing with suppliers, when necessary and managing one intern.
This is an ideal position for someone with the ability to work collaboratively with an international team. The job will be challenging and will require the successful candidate to take responsibility for delivering both quickly and to a high quality standard. We are looking for someone with strong commercial and communication skills, flexible and with capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will be required to undertake domestic as well as international travel.
The position is based at the British Consulate-General in Sao Paulo.
Language requirements:
Language: English and Portuguese
Level of language required: Fluent
Essential on arrival:
• University degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Marketing, Economics, or related fields
• Minimum of 2 years experience
• Excellent research and report writing skills in English
• Ability to solve problems, prioritise, organise and manage multiple tasks
• Committed team player with ability to self-motivate, resilience, and autonomy
• Strong communicating and influencing skills
Desirable:
• Knowledge/understanding of the British Education Sector
• Knowledge/understanding of Latin American business landscape
• Experience of working in stakeholder relationship management
• Project management skills/training
• Spanish (intermediate)
