The British Embassy in  Podgorica represents  the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in Montenegro, promoting cooperation and connections between the government and people of the UK and Montenegro, and together with National Crime Agency has been working on delivery of capacity building projects in Montenegro and requires Project Support officer to help us deliver further capacity building.

We are seeking a person who will be in charge for NCA development projects at Montenegro and support to Corporate services team in procurement and administration.

Roles and Responsibilities

Support to NCA capacity buliding projects:

Coordinating logistics regarding inbound/outbound office visits 

  • Coordinating logistics concerning project delivery
  • Engaging with stakeholders in respect of project delivery
  • Doing market research for local procurement
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, including purchase orders and accruals
  • Maintaining other records for project and audit compliance
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Montenegrin, including excellent writing skills (written and spoken, minimum of C1 level for CEFR framework*)
  • Experience of working with budgets
  • Excellent IT Skills, practitioner user level of Excel
  • Ability to identify and prioritise workloads
  • Ability to process and understand large amounts of technical information and make recommendations based on the Best Value for Money principles
  • Experience of working in teams with a high level of personal responsibility and a track record of being accountable for own actions/decisions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Constructive, positive and service oriented attitude
  • Driving licence category B
  • Knowledge of political and security / law enforcement affairs in Montenegro

This is a part-time (50%) fixed-term contract for 12 months with possibility of extension.

The successful appointment is subject to confirmation of a background check, security clearance and medical clearance.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Podgorica are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Montenegro employment law.

Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Montenegro and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
