Main purpose of job:

The Corporate Services department at the British Embassy Harare is at the core of the Embassy’s operations. The Corporate Services Cleaner plays a key role in a dynamic team by ensuring that the Embassy offices are always in a presentable and clean state and compliant with Health and Safety standards and requirements.

The role of Corporate Services Cleaner is a challenging and rewarding position. It requires a motivated individual with an eye for detail, someone who is proactive and able to learn on the job. Ability to work with others and deliver a quality service will be key to success in this role. This exciting position will expose the individual to a wide variety of areas within the operations arena.

Roles and responsibilities:

The Corporate Services Cleaner is a key role in the Corporate Services Department. The individual will be part of a team whose responsibility it is to maintain the cleaning and hygiene standards of the Embassy and ensure that the office is represented to the highest of standards at all times. This role’s responsibilities include:

General cleaning duties; cleaning, vacuuming, washing within the Embassy and across the Estate when required.

  • Ensuring waste is appropriately disposed of and recycling guidance is upheld
  • Maintaining stocks of office supplies
  • Supervising contractors in the office
  • Assist with reception cover when required
  • Assisting the Accommodation Assistant where requested
  • Contributing to the wider corporate environment
