Commercial Diplomacy

Main purpose of job:


To provide administrative and communications support to the Economic Diplomacy team, especially working with the climate change and science teams, to help delivering events, providing strategic and logistical support, and bringing communication ideas to the team.


Roles and responsibilities:

1. Events: Support to the organisation, planning and delivery of official events and visits, including the preparation of agendas, meetings and all related logistic activities including quotes, catering, venues, invitations.

2. Communications: Coordinate and work closely with Press and Public Affairs team in order to support the production and release of a commercial, economic and environment bulletin.

3. Continous relation to promote events, programme outreach, visits, and other Economic Diplomacy areas of interest.

4. Support strategic communications, provide ideas and develop an engagement along with the Press and Public Affairs team in line with COP26 interests.

5. Admin: Work along with the SIN and ED support officer in order to update and manage the Economy Diplomacy budget.

6. Support the climate change and science and innovation teams to deliver administrative taskes related to budget and payments.

7. Research and reporting: to provide support with researching essential information for programmes, on issues such as policies, recent developments on areas such as climate change, adaptation, biodiversity, innovation

8. To   work closely with different areas of the Embassy in order to ensure good coordination and optimise the impact of each event, intervention and project.

9. Any other task that might be required as part of the Section activities.


Essential on arrival: 100% bilingual and good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Other IT/apps mananged, background on communications.


Desirable: Well organised, good team work, excellent customer services and providers management, knowledge and interest in communicacions and social media.

Must have pre-existing legal status to live and work in Colombia.

The successful candidate must be in the last year of undergraduate studies in International Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business Management, Political Science or similar degrees.


It is mandatory that the candidates are students with availability of at least 6 months before their graduation to complete the internship. The internship must be a requirement for obtaining the degree.
