Main purpose of job:


 

The main objective of the role is to assist in the organisation series of seasonal events for 'Feria de las Culturas 2019’, the international cultural fair organised since 2009 by Mexico’s City Government (GDF). The job holder will be essential part of the team to successfully represent the UK in the fair.


 

Roles and responsibilities:

 





  • Assist with the day to day co-ordination and planning of the Feria de las Culturas, including customer service and provide information to all visitors of Embassy’s stand;
  • Supervision of defined aspects of the events;
  • Provide logistics support to the organization of events during Feria de las Culturas;
  • Daily set up and closure of the stand from 31st May to 16th June, including weekends, and provide information about Embassy’s initiatives to all visitors;
  • Liaising and supporting marketing and Press colleagues to promote the event;
  • Coordinating suppliers, handling client queries and troubleshooting during Feria de las Culturas (31st May to 16th June, including weekends ) to ensure that all runs smoothly;
  • Overseeing the dismantling and removal of the stand and clearing the venue efficiently;
  • Post-event evaluation (including data entry, analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders);
  • Coordinating venue management, production agency, caterers, stand designers, and equipment hired for the Feria;
  • Complete final reports to assess the performance of the Embassy in the event with stakeholders.



Essential on arrival: You will be required to coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot during Feria de las Culturas to ensure that all runs smoothly.

Desirable: Relevant experience in event management is desirable. Previous experience dealing with people in events or customer service is desirable.

The job holder will receive training on relevant aspects of the UK, such as government organisation, as well as opportunities for the Mexican people to visit, invest or study in the UK. This will be handled by other senior colleagues from the Embassy and the British Council.

 

The job holder will learn how to produce media reports and outcomes reports. This will be handled by senior colleagues from the Press and Communications team.


MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS. 6 HOUR WORK DAYS
