Economic and Prosperity

To provide support to the Economics and Prosperity Team in all aspects of its work: including administrative support as well as analytical and data support.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Conducting research, providing support for analysis and reporting on significant macroeconomic, financial market and international trade issues in Brazil with a particular focus on statistics and designing graphics.
  • Providing logistic and strategic support to the a development programme on the green finance area.
  • Compiling and updating a reference database of key facts and figures on the Brazilian economy.
  • Providing support to financial services policy discussions between the UK and Brazil (e.g. insurance and reinsurance, asset management and pension funds regulatory framework).
  • Sharing our analysis with key stakeholders.
  • Providing support on promoting the UK’s wider economic and political objectives.
  • Scheduling meetings, organizing travels, events and visits, and liaising with key stakeholders (internal and external) including other Government departments.
  • Ongoing undergraduate studies (at least in the 3rd semester) in Economics, International Relations or Social Sciences.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills in both English and Portuguese.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel (including both spreadsheet and graphical representation functions).
  • Good understanding of the Brazilian economy and Brazil’s economic reform agenda.
  • Some background working with projects.

Essential HMG training will be given at the beginning of the Internship, with on-the-job training available throughout.

30 hours per week according to the intern’s classes.
