Main purpose of job:


The chosen candidate will support the assigned Embassy section, Department of International Trade (DIT), in achieving its desired objectives.



The successful candidate will provide support to the assigned team in tasks focused mainly on market access for UK investments, products and bilateral relations while pursuing the promotion of the UK Government’s values.

 

This internship is designed around the individuals desire to learn and develop as well as the need to assist DIT in terms of market access and trade policy. It will offer a window into how a diplomatic mission operates and the type of work we become involved in.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

 

  • Providing support to DIT in trade policy areas
  • Conduct research and analysis on market sectors that are relevant to the UK
  • Compiling information on trade flows and trade agreements that affect Paraguay
  • Assist in doing preliminary work on reporting Paraguay and Mercosur’s bilateral relations
  • Help in identifying areas where Paraguay could develop its relationship with UK in regards to economic policy
  • Engaging with UK companies/brands in Paraguay

 

Currently studying International Trade, International Relations or Economy.


Must have excellent computer skills, particularly MS Outlook and MS Office packages.


Should be a proactive and creative self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who has the ability to learn quickly.


Must be willing to work in a constantly changing multicultural environment.



Language: English and Spanish
