View Vacancy - Part-time Estates Manager

Main purpose of job

The post-holder will be expected to provide business planning and estimates for any capital or maintenance expenditure required on the estate.  They will also need to ensure the smooth running of the entire estate, including managing  GH staff, ensuring that all FCO standards are adhered to, supporting work across Government House and South Georgia, South Sandwich Island Governments.

Roles and responsibilities

• Estates. To give clearly evidenced business planning and estimates for any capital or maintenance expenditure to meet the standards required. To ensure the smooth running of the estate and ensure that detailed HSE standards are adhered to.
• To lead for SGSSI and GH in planning the new refurbishment of the stables
• To support GH and SGSSI on all administrational activity as well as policy reporting. There is a possibility to also lead on bespoke policy areas where appropriate.
• Staff management. To take on the staff management of the 3 gardening staff, setting clear objectives for garden maintenance and production of produce to ensure efficiencies. To also manage the Driver/handyman to ensure that properties are maintained to a high standard and in line with HSE requirements.
• The Post Holder will be expected to work on both Falklands and South Georgia and South Sandwich Island issues. The role will be the ‘bridge’ between the two governments.

• Educated to ‘A’ level or above
• Management background
• Ability to use Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills
