The PA to the Minister Counsellor Economic will manage their Private Office ensuring the very best use of their time, advising on how to organise and prioritise commitments; handle internal and external stakeholders, and ensure high quality programmes and briefings are produced.


Roles and responsibilities:

Diary management - Oversight of the Minister Counsellor Economic’s diary ensuring maximum value is made of her time.  Manage competing requests for time with careful prioritisation and tact. Ensure low priority work is delegated. Responsible for the organisation of day-to-day meetings: evaluating meeting/activity requests & advise appropriately, identifying times and organizing meetings, interviews, events, telephone and conference, identify appropriate participants, ensure overruns minimized, speaking notes/briefing is supplied in advance by the relevant team members and that the follow-up is undertaken by the appropriate officer.

Travel arrangements (within Russia and overseas), liaising with a wide range of colleagues across the Russia Network and in London.

Drafting and sending official correspondence on behalf of the Minister Counsellor Economic. 

Budget Management of Minister Counsellor Economic’s travel and entertainment budget. Forecasting annual expenditure and monitoring/adjusting on a monthly basis. Member of post Resource Management Committee.

Programmes and briefing: Co-ordinate and follow-up on the delivery of briefing, speaking notes, speeches required by Minister Counsellor . Lead on the provision of quality visit programmes and logistical support maximising value from  Minister Counsellor’s time.

Team support: To work closely with and provide cover to HMA and DHM Private offices.

Fluency at C1 level in English (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*);

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;

Previous professional experience in an international organisation.

Fluency at C1 level in Russian (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*);

Previous professional experience in a similar role.

This is a full time contract for 2 years, 5 working days, 35 hours net per week.

The monthly salary for this position is RUB 123,403 gross, AO level, paid 13 times a year.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Russia is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Russian employment law.
