View Vacancy - ISF Project Manager (ALB24.237)
The British Embassy in Tirana is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and now is looking for an ISF Project Manager.
This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic self-starter to join a high performing team providing support to UK programmes delivered through the Integrated Security Fund (ISF).
The job holder will manage a high profile project in Albania delivering against an ambitious and innovative set of objectives. This will involve close inspection of budget forecasts and actual spending by the implementing partner. Further support may be needed for delivery of wider Embassy programming objectives.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Programme manage a multimillion pound programme focused on reducing irregular migration from the North of Albania;
- Ensure compliance with the UK Government’s Integrated Security Fund (ISF) funding requirements, including performance and financial reporting, providing first quality assurance to ensure reports effectively articulate delivery against agreed outputs and outcomes, and ensure that projects are gender and conflict sensitive;
- Support scoping, design and development of new projects and programmes by developing and utilising a network of internal and external stakeholders, to ensure compatibility of projects with international partners and national plans;
- Timely and accurate management of budgets and finances ensuring the UK is receiving value for money;
- Liaise with implementing partners, ensuring project delivery milestones; monitoring risks;
- Lead on logistics for visits, and wider administrative support for the ISF team, which could include responding to ad hoc requests from stakeholders, correspondence, setting up meetings, drafting meeting readouts, translating, planning and conducting field visits;
- Ensure cross cutting themes – including gender and human rights – are appropriately addressed by projects as directed by the core principles of the ISF Programme;
- Increase the business and trade profile of the UK in Albania in coordination with main stakeholders, such as the British Chamber of Commerce in Albania.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Albanian (C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
- University level degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience;
- Experience in working with international donors/government;
- Experience of project management in the development sector;
- Understanding of the role of foreign aid in economic development;
- Ability to work in a diverse and cross-cultural environment;
- Commercial awareness;
- An innovative attitude especially towards customer service and performance management;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Good working knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Understanding of the role of the private sector in development and poverty reduction;
- Understanding of the donor environment in Albania.
This is for a full-time employment, on a fixed term basis for 12 months with possibility of renewal. The gross salary per month is ALL 159,685.
The Embassy's working hours are from 08.30-17.00 Mon-Thur and 08.30-14.30 on Fridays.
The Embassy provides Private Health Insurance for the member of staff.
No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
