Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:

  • Prepare daily meals for HMA (weekdays only).
  • Prepare food and beverage for official functions.
  • Purchase ingredients from local market and/or supermarket, ensure value for money.
  • Maintain high standard of cleanliness of kitchen, all kitchen equipment and materials.
  • Wash dishes after official functions (using dish washer where appropriate).
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene in all functions.
  • Clean all ground floor rooms including polishing tables, chairs, silver cutlery, trays and other furniture.
  • Ensure cleanliness of representational areas at residence.
  • In keeping with the Embassy’s efforts to reduce plastic use, seek to minimise the use of single-use plastic (and other non-recyclable consumables) in the Residence at all times. Compost all food waste, rather than placing in rubbish bins. Wash all glass bottles and jars for recycling.
  • Cover Hospitality Manager’s daily job when she is on leave and reporting line to AO.
  • Having minimum of 2 year experience in a role of working in similar role (preferable in an international organisation or with expatriate);
  • Good in English and fluent in Khmer both written and spoken;
  • Good organisational skills, self-management and initiative;
  • The ability to work well in a small team;
  • Ability to use modern kitchen facilities,
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook and Excel;
  • Prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasionally at weekends
  • Holds a valid driving license

Working patterns

Full time - Monday and Thursday 8:15-16:45 & Friday 8:15-13:15

The Embassy has a smarter working policy and is committed to offering flexible working patterns balanced with the operational requirements of the role. In crisis/emergency situations you may need to work as required to support the Embassy response, sometimes on a shift pattern working which may result in unsociable hours and/or weekend working.
