The British Embassy in Azerbaijan is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Corporate Services Assistant / Receptionist , A1 based in Baku.

The new hire will deliver professional customer service to the wider Embassy team by arranging timely and accurate travel/transport booking, facilitating and arranging migration registration to the staff and visitors, transferring calls/emails accordingly, organising local language exams for the UK diplomats.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Coordinating driver’s log book, overseeing transport requirements for the Embassy;
  • Managing telephone switchboard;
  • Facilitating Visa and accreditation for the Embassy staff and visitors;
  • Drafting and translating Note Verbales and other documents;
  • Creating requisitions and purchase orders;
  • Arranging travel and accommodation bookings for the Embassy staff and visitors;
  • Line Managing two drivers;
  • Acting as a Language coordinator for the UK staff;
  • Distributing of emails from General Enquiries mailbox;
  • Acting as a backup for Personal Assistant to Senior Staff;
  • Other duties as deemed operationally necessary by the Line Manager or Embassy Management.
  • Minimum High School Diploma level;
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Azerbaijani (minimum level required C1 under the CEFRL or equivalent*);
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in related field and/or Customer Service in an international organisation;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proactive self-starter;
  • Seeking out opportunities to create effective changes;
  • Good team player;
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and handle multitasks;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Intermediate level of Russian language.

This is a permanent full-time position, five working days, 40 hours net per week.

The salary is USD 1,352.78 gross per month and shall be paid in AZN monthly.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Azerbaijan is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service of the FCDO according to local labour legislation.
