Main purpose of job:

To ensure the upkeep of the High Commissioner’s Residence.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

The main purpose of the job is to ensure that the High Commissioner’s Residence is kept neat and tidy at all times and who is happy to work in a successful team.  The successful applicant should be hard working,  have good hygiene and a good sense of humour. Main duties are:

House Keeping

  • All washing and ironing to be completed and stored as soon as possible 
  • Arrange bedrooms each morning and evening for guests
  • Ensure the Residence is maintained and kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Keep inventory of cleaning items ensuring requests for replenishment are reported to Corporate Services Manager (CSM) in a timely manner

Maintenance

  • Liaise closely with the CSM and maintenance officer in ensuring all scheduled maintenance services are carried out
  • Report to CSM /Maintenance officer immediately with any faults or maintenance requirements
  • Monitor usage of electrical appliances such as air conditioners  ensuring units are switched off when not in use but always at the direction of the High Commissioner 
  • Check all rooms to make sure house is properly secured during the day and before you leave the premises at the end of each working day
  • Other duties as necessary and as determined by the CSM

Events

  • Prepare  and clear up residence for event as directed by the CSM
  • Prepare finger foods for event

Monday to Thursday: 0800 -1600

Friday: 0800-1500
