The British Consulate in Ekaterinburg is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Corporate Services and Consular Support Officer to provide administrative support to the Consul General (CG) in ensuring the effective and smooth execution of Post’s Corporate and Consular duties. They will act as Personal Assistant (PA) to the Consul General.

Due to the nature of Post’s work, which periodically includes evening and weekend events, as well as overnight regional travel, the jobholder should be ready to work accordingly.

In more detail, main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high quality and efficient administrative support to the Consul General (CG), Deputy Consul General (DCG) and the wider office;
  • Ensure Post’s Corporate systems and processes function efficiently;
  • Support sound financial management by managing Post’s budget, ensuring the forecast is accurate and all spend represents good value;
  • Ensure that the Consulate Office and the Residence remain functional and well maintained;
  • Support the CG in arranging and attending outreach events;
  • Line management of the Consulate’s driver/handyman and the Office Cleaner/Residence housekeeper;
  • Provide consistent consular support to British citizens, handling cases in a sympathetic and professional manner;
  • Provide Russian-English interpretation as needed;
  • Provide back-up for the Prosperity/Communications/Visits Officer.

  • Fluency in English and Russian (both oral and written);
  • Strong organisational and financial management skills;
  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced environment;
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills;
  • Track record of taking responsibility and showing initiative;
  • Willingness to learn;
  • Flexibility to work outside work hours;
  • Previous line management experience;
  • IT proficiency in Outlook, EXCEL, Word.
  • Previous experience of a similar role.

This is a full-time temporary to cover for a maternity leave, for 5 working days, 35 hours net per week.

The monthly salary for this position is Rub 76,851 gross, A2 (L) level, paid 13 times a year.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.
