Main purpose of job:

The Deputy Head of the Regional Finance Hub will support the delivery of key Finance Management activity to British Embassies, High Commissions and other Offices located across two geographic regions. The role of the Regional Finance Hub is to provide key financial services to customers across the region and to provide a strategic and professional capability to support the organisation deliver its objectives. This role with report to and work closely with the Head of the Finance Hub in Manila.

The Deputy Head of the Regional Finance Hub will lead a team of Financial Account Managers delivering a range of services within both regions, working alongside the Regional Procurement and HR Hubs, support and cover the Head of the Hub, and undertake ad-hoc tasks as required. The team will monitor offices in the both regions to ensure financial compliance and to develop and manage finance policies and processes which are globally consistent.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

  • Collaborate with senior management to manage annual planning calendar involving in-depth coordination of strategic plan, budget and forecasts.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor (direct or indirectly ) the account managers, coordinating their work and ensuring to meet their Service Level Agreements / Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Provide financial advice and support to stakeholders in the region and the UK;
  • Understand and communicate financial results and trends to business management and make recommendations
  • Act as strategic finance partner for Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa geographical directorate and assist in the decision support at the Manila Finance Hub
  • Drive process improvement including conducting analysis and developing insights that improve the decision making of the management team
  • Partner closely with HR, Procurement, CSC and other regional hubs to understand business activity and drivers.
  • Help recruit and build the best talent who contribute as much in their role as they do to the team and culture.
  • Prepare ad hoc/ specialized analysis as may be required.

Resources managed (staff and expenditure):

  • Exact reporting structure to be confirmed, but will deliver through 6 x B3 Account Managers
  • Preferrably CIMA or CPA-qualified accountant
  • At least 7-9 years of experience in financial planning, commercial finance, and analytics with strong background in budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Has strong business partnering and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel)
  • Experienced user of Oracle eBusiness Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
