Why should you apply?

Our Key Account Manager Hydrogen & Clean Mobility will help UK companies succeed at accessing high value business opportunities and mitigating market access barriers in Clean Mobility & Hydrogen industries in Poland and to strengthen the Department’s for International Trade (DIT’s) team  across the  Central Europe region in the wider Clean Growth space.

The role-holder would be based in Warsaw and form part of the existing Central Europe trade team, working in collaboration with teams in London and Central Europe, and ensuring full alignment between local priorities and the larger organisational context.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying opportunities for UK companies as well as market barriers in hydrogen & clean transport sectors in Poland and the region
  • Matching the UK offering in  hydrogen & clean transport to local market opportunity to help optimise UK business development in Poland and the region
  • Promoting opportunities in the Polish  hydrogen & clean transport sectors to British companies and relevant business organisations and promoting UK capabilities in hydrogen & clean transport to relevant Polish stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining relations with relevant external stakeholders, i.e. business, government & industry stakeholders to support Poland’s transition towards low emission transport and to introduce UK experience to the Polish market
  • Working with senior stakeholders in the UK and local contacts in Poland to deliver performance targets in the relevant sectors
  • Leading on delivery of large events and project under the relevant campaigns, including bidding for funding, cooperation with internal and external service providers and stakeholders, logistics and comms/media coverage, budget management
  • Updating and monitoring of market barriers and interactions with stakeholders
  • Supporting the Trade Team in Poland in the clean growth space to deliver high value wins for UK companies
  • Co-operate closely with other Embassy teams, relevant external stakeholders and DIT colleagues across the Central Europe region
  • This role involves occasional travel within Poland, Central Europe and to the UK

Access to a full suite of FCDO and DIT training courses and Embassy L&D programme.

Our ideal candidate shows:

  • BA/BS degree or higher
  • Full professional proficiency in Polish and English, including excellent writing skills as well as experience in drafting engaging, speeches, articles and other forms
  • Experience in developing relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Experience in delivering events/webinars and using different communications channels, including social media
  • Strategic commercial and economic awareness
  • Ability to identify relevant market opportunities
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Proactive, goal oriented and outgoing personality with strong commercial acumen
  • Strong IT skills in MS Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

It will be a plus:

  • Proven track record of business development and in delivering results
  • Business experience in the clean growth related business, preferably climate or low emission transport sectors or a relevant NGO
  • Passionate about brand new technologies in the automotive/sustainable mobility industry, i.e. e-mobility, autonomous vehicles,  new transportation concepts on two or three wheels  etc.
  • Basic understanding of the international trade, foreign direct investment and the business environment
  • Experience in project management, including managing budgets

This is a full-time fixed-term position of 5 days (37.5 net per week) for 24 months with the possibility of extension. 

The gross salary for this position is PLN 8,462 gross per month. Working hours are flexible and staff are entitled to time-off-in-lieu for agreed extra hours worked. The annual leave entitlement is 20 or 26 days per year pro rata and the Embassy also enjoys a maximum of 14 Polish / UK public holidays per year. 

Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by the local law. 

The successful candidate will be subject to the Polish references check and satisfactory completion of a probationary period of three months. 

Candidates must have pre-existing right to live and work in Poland for the duration of the job offer in order to apply. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits. 

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Warsaw are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to Polish employment law.

Working patterns: The British Embassy Warsaw has a strong commitment to work/life balance. Office hours are 8:30 – 16:30, staff are encouraged to leave on time. Flexi-hours are also possible within the Embassy building’s opening hours (0800-1800). We have mobile technology and offer hybrid working with remote working days to be agreed with line managers.
