Learning and Development

The Diplomatic Academy Regional Teams (DART) provide innovative and creative learning solutions to meet the needs of the UK Government overseas. We partner with British Missions (Posts) to ensure learning is based on performance outcomes and aligned to UK Government priorities. We work to ensure that learning activities are designed to best-practice L&D standards, based on solid research and contribute to building a positive learning culture within the workplace.

The role of the L&D Adviser (Learning Partner) in APAC will be to collaborate with internal clients and business partners to design, deliver and implement blended learning programmes based on organisational priorities and regional needs related to identify performance outcomes.

The successful applicant should expect to work in an agile way to support DA activity in other areas including business partnership, to support existing and emerging priorities.  

Roles and responsibilities:

Partner with Posts and Business Partners (BP) on Learning solutions

  • Partner with BPs and Posts to design and deliver learning solutions that meet identified needs/performance outcomes
  • Ensure learning solutions are designed and delivered using best-practice L&D methodologies consistent with Modern Workplace Learning. Ensure solutions are built as programmes and make use of appropriate technology.
  • Evaluate L&D solutions to ensure performance outcomes are achieved.

Facilitation

  • Facilitate Leadership & Management Development programmes
  • Support Management Development cohorts including Line Management learning sets
  • Act as live or virtual facilitators, community managers and moderators for online communities and groups
  • Lead cohorts of learners through programmes of learning in support of Diplomatic Academy Faculties
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to deliver targeted learning through virtual platforms
  • Develop SME L&D expertise through face to face and virtual facilitation

Content Management

  • Curate and manage content across key thematic areas
  • Fluent spoken and written  English 
  • Minimum 5 years in a L&D and/or OD environment either public or private sector
  • Has learning design skills to devise and implement learning solutions
  • Able to communicate and facilitate both virtual and face to face groups effectively
  • Understanding of modern workplace learning best practice
  • Consultative and partnering skills
  • Content management and curation ability
  • Capability in community and group moderation to lead groups in virtual environments
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Able to travel as and when required
  • A passion and enthusiasm for developing people
  • A second frequently spoken Asian language
