View Vacancy - AUS (Brisbane) - Executive Assistant and Pro Consul, British Consulate General Brisbane, A2(L)
This key role provides administrative and operations support for DIT and the Consular team in Queensland and reports directly to the Consul General and Director of Trade (ANZ). The job holder will work collaboratively across the DIT and Consular networks providing day to day support on visits, finance, data entry, project work and administration. This position is full time (1.0 FTE).
Provide high quality administrative support to the Consul General ensuring day to day activities, meetings, internal and external visits and events run smoothly;
Assist with the organisation of events and visits and provide support on arranging programmes and logistics for Ministerial, VIP and other official visits;
Support the British Business Network in Queensland by arranging networking events quarterly and maintaining up to date contact lists and marketing collateral;
Provide research support as necessary on commercial, economic and political issues for speeches, analysis or operational business.
Capture and record DIT interactions with senior executives in a wide range of businesses on Datahub (online). These interactions include major existing investors in the UK and major UK companies doing business in Queensland.
Maintain close and effective working relationships with the Directors, the DIT network in Australia and New Zealand and complementary FCO and platform partners. Limited regional travel may be required.
Provide consular assistance to British Nationals in Queensland and play a key role in the delivery of frontline consular services.
Maintain timely and accurate records using the FCO’s consular casework system and keep the Vice Consul informed of developments.
Processing of emergency travel documents, logging and responding to correspondence, processing applications for civil partnership conversions, organising Citizenship Ceremonies, processing lost and stolen passport reports and contributing to local prevention campaigns.

Salary is at AU$62,473 per annum (paid out monthly), plus 11% superannuation.
Appointment is subject to an AFP records check and UK security clearance.
Open to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and partners/ dependents of UK-based diplomatic staff currently posted in Australia.
Staff recruited locally by the British High Commission and its Consulates is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Australian employment law.
