Main purpose of job:

The CRTL is responsible for control room and would manage the eight control room officers and the main reception. The person will be responsible for information collection and management and SMS alerts/updates. The CTRL will also ensure and maintain accurate staff movement data. Where necessary the CRTL will accompany official visits outside Islamabad to ensure appropriate security measures are provided and the CRTL will assist in country wide liaison tasks as directed by the Overseas Security Manager (OSM) and the Senior Security Manager (SSM).

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the day to day management of the eight Control Room Officers.

2. To manage the rostering for the Control Room Officers.

3. To manage and schedule leave to ensure the control room has effective and appropriate 24 hour coverage.

4. Monitor the security situation and detail the RRV to prove routes and advise on the road status.

5. Regularly briefing and updating OSM/SSM on various security situations.

6. Maintain the Master and OSM Map, including electronic mapping applications.

7. Maintain Current and Future Operations board.

8. Supporting OSM/SSM in gathering, maintaining and directing information collection and management and message updates as appropriate.

9. Responsible to maintain an accurate table of staff movement for all official and social moves within/outside of the city of Islamabad.

10. Develop the teams understanding and application of social media as an information source.

11. Management of security information updates on Zariya website portal.

12. Manage the issue, receipt and maintenance of the Satellite phones, personal and vehicle trackers.

13. Conduct out of hours reviews of the Control Room, twice a week.

14. Review and ensure that the Staff and Visit logs are maintained within the database and displayed at both the Control Room and Security Department.

15. Maintain the operational functionality of the tracking software and respective IT programmes.

16. Provide cover and perform Security Liaison officer duties as and when required by LM.

17. Various procurement responsibilities including sourcing and payments.

18. Administer databases and departmental share-point page.

19. Support SSM/OSM during Crisis scenarios and update security contact details on to Crisis Hub web portal.

20. Provide IT related support to Lahore office and procure equipment on behalf of DSSM Lahore upon LM’s permission.

21. Manage inventory log of all equipment under use of Security Department for audit purposes.

22. Any other duty as directed by the duty OSM, and SSM.

Language: English and Urdu 

Level of language required:  Excellent English & Urdu verbal and written skills required

Working patterns: 

This post is suitable for flexible working in addition to the normal working hours and will be required to carry out random checks on the team during evening hours and may need to stay over nights as and when required; in that the person will have to work outside the normal working hours and stay overnights which benefits from overtime/TOIL claim as per rules.

Essential on arrival:  

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate is required as a minimum;
  • Previous experience working for a disciplined organisation, armed services, police or at least 3 years’ experience operating in security liaison, security information hub and/or control room manager capacity.
  • Strong Website, Database Administration and IT skills including mapping.
  • Clear communication skills

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Evidence of good leadership.
  • Good standard of oral and written, in one or more of the following; Punjabi, Sindhi, Hindko and Pashto.

For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Local Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.

For other than BHC candidates, salary will be PKR 94,862.
