View Vacancy - European Affairs and Trade Policy Adviser (NOR160)
The British Embassy in Oslo is part of the United Kingdom’s world-wide diplomatic network, and represents British political, economic and consular interests in Norway and is now looking to recruit an European Affairs and Trade Policy Adviser. This is a new position which will support the Embassy’s work on European matters and trade policy. The job-holder will report to the Head of European Affairs and Trade Policy.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Research and analysis – principally in the areas of trade, agriculture, fisheries, justice and home affairs.
- Compiling information required for policy documents, briefing and other exercises for British government departments and senior Embassy staff.
- When required, contributing to the organisation of visits and events.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English (both oral and written).
- Excellent research skills and ability to synthesize complex information into concise reports.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of and interest in European institutions and trade policy.
This is a full-time permanent position. The working hours are 35 net per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.
Employees recruited locally by the British Embassy Oslo are subject to terms and conditions of service in accordance with Norwegian employment law.
