Main purpose of job:

  • Assist the two current gardeners at the High Commission and High Commission compound with the general maintenance of the grounds as well as monthly inspections around off compound properties.
  • Assist the store assistant with moving/delivering of furniture around the store/properties.

 

  • Carry out gardening duties, requiring a minimum amount of supervision
  • To assist with the erection and dismantling of tables/chairs for official functions
  • Delivery of furniture across the estate as and when required
  • Assist the maintenance team with basic maintenance duties during annual leave and busy periods
  • Provide cover for the store assistant during leave of absence
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by the Estates Team

 

  • Basic IT Skills
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Gardening Experience

 

  • Basic maintenance background would be an advantage

Annual salary R 89,000.04. (13 Monthly payments during the year) plus performance related pay and benefits.

The British High Commission pays 100% for the Key Care Plus option on Discovery Health for staff including spouses/partners and dependants.

Once you have successfully completed your probation the British High Commission will contribute 9% of your monthly salary to a Provident Fund.

Annual leave entitlement of 25 days

Working hours per week of 36.5
