The UK Mission in Geneva forms part of a world-wide network of 230 Diplomatic Missions, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. Our Corporate Services Team is responsible for delivering financial, HR, estates, procurement, IT, security and protocol services to approximately 70 Staff at the UK Mission to the United Nations in Geneva and is now looking for a Corporate Services Officer.

The main purpose of the job is to deliver effective HR/Corporate Services support to the UK Mission Geneva. The role is an important part of the Corporate Services Team, where the logistics for staff arrivals and departures are managed. This job is to provide one year’s maternity cover for the present incumbent on a 60% basis.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

HR Recruitment and Administration:

  • Central point of contact for LE staff recruitment queries;
  • Update weekly staff arrivals/departures and recruitment records;
  • Liaison with Hub on recruitment process;
  • Participate in recruitment campaigns (i.e. sifting, interviewing);
  • Manage UKMis recruitment network (e.g. alumni and LinkedIn);
  • Consult and update the Local Staff Charter;
  • Review Terms and Conditions of Service (TACOS) as and when required;
  • Present to the senior management board on HR polices;
  • Ensure new staff have a proper induction;
  • Conduct exit interviews with staff who are departing;
  • Interns Champion: provide extra layer of support for interns;
  • Maintain HR Files;
  • Preparation of ad hoc employment attestations and certificates;
  • General administrative support;
  • Deputising for colleagues in CST.

Management of Transit Flats:

  • Manage booking system of two transit flats;
  • Organise cleaning of the flats.

Post Language Officer:

  • Organise language exams at Post as and when required;
  • Authorise spouse requests for Optional Language training;

Line Management:

Line management responsibilities of the A2L Community Liaison Officer.

  • Experience in end-to-end staff recruitment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus;
  • Ability to work with contacts and colleagues at all levels;
  • Personal drive and the ability to be a self-starter as well as a team player;
  • Strong organisational with very good attention to detail;
  • Flexible, resilient under pressure;
  • Willingness to go the extra mile;
  • Comprehensive IT skills using HR management packages, Microsoft Office, Internet.
