View Vacancy - Regional Communications & Campaigns Manager
Leading a small team of communications professionals, the Regional Communication & Campaigns Manager will lead on strategic planning and delivery of core UK government communications campaigns and co-ordinated media activity in the Americas network. They will also leverage the team’s knowledge and skills to help local teams plan, implement and evaluate bi-lateral communications projects and in doing so ensure that our external communication across the region is professional, data driven and engages target audiences in support of key policy objectives.
The job holder will report remotely to the Senior Regional Communicator for the Americas, but will be expected to manage the day-to-day activities of the team and work unsupervised for much of the time.
CAMPAIGNS & COMMUNICATION
- Work with London teams and Heads of Communications at Posts to ensure the effective delivery of core UK government campaigns across the region
- Plan and deliver regional campaigns that support UK government priorities, coordinating across Posts and using Regional Hub resources to ensure high quality implementation and evaluation
- Advise and guide Post comms teams on local campaigns and advise and guide Heads of Mission on embedding strategic communication into country business plans
- Manage a horizon-scanning process for the region to ensure central communications teams have clear line of sight of upcoming activity and maximising opportunities for cross-region working
LINE MANAGEMENT
- Manage the work of the Regional Digital Manager to ensure that Posts across the region are using digital channels in a strategic and impactful way and in line with UK government standards
- Manage the work of the Insights & Evaluation Officer to ensure that communication around the network is driven by insight and followed up with professional evaluation
TRAINING:
- Identify gaps in skills/knowledge within the region and work with colleagues in London to develop effective programmes for developing skills and capability
- Provide resilience for central Strat Comms and Campaigns function in London where work needs advancing or covering out of hours
- A strong track record of creating and delivering communication campaigns with proven impact, with a deep understanding of strategic communications, audience and evaluation principles
- Knowledge of the communications and media landscape in Latin America
- Demonstrable experience of using audience profiling techniques as part of the campaign planning process
- Be a confident and credible leader – but also comfortable working as part of a wider team, to plan and deliver wide-ranging activity at pace Have a
- Demonstrate experience of working with and influencing people at all levels and from a wide variety of backgrounds and disciplines
- Be comfortable analysing complex data and working with qualitative and quantitative insight and be experienced at evaluation
- Demonstrate strong strategic communication and engagement skills, enjoy planning but also be dynamic and flexible, in order to respond to emerging opportunities and challenges.

- Have excellent judgement and a strong sense of the factors that drive positive staff engagement
- Experience and knowledge of digital communications and the use of social media for media and campaign messaging
- Knowledge of social media evaluation tools beyond native Twitter and Facebook analytics. Experience using Brandwatch or Newswhip would be valued

Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico within their own right. The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference check.
