Intern for the energy team at Department for International Trade, Mexico.

The jobholder is expected to provide administrative and logistics support for DIT Energy team’s daily tasks and events. The jobholder is also expected to have advanced written, communication, organisation, and research skills.

In general, the jobholder will:

  • Support commercial activities in the energy sector
  • Draft a newsletter with relevant energy sector news
  • Update sector reports through desk research
  • Provide logistic administrative assistance for trade missions/events;
  • Search, promote and record business opportunities for UK companies in the sector
  • Support the team with administrative tasks
  • Liaise with other DIT sectors and Embassy departments as necessary

Support UK businesses through different services such as:

  • Tailored market research
  • The organisation of business visit programmes
  • Planning trade missions/events
  • Participation in trade shows

Essential on arrival: 
•    A strong work ethic, inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively
•    Excellent customer service
•    Attention to detail
•    High level of competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
•    High level of organisational skills  
•    To be enrolled in or recently graduated from a related undergraduate programme (e.g. International Relations, Economics, Administration, International Business, Engineering in relevant field, etc.)

Language requirements: 

Language: Candidates must be fluent in both written & spoken English and Spanish

Level of language required:  Proficient

It is important for the candidate to be learning driven and be interested in the commercial opportunities between the UK and Mexico. Candidate is expected to have advanced research, written and organisational skills.

Candidates must be able to live and work in Mexico in their own right.  The successful candidate will be subject to a security clearance and professional reference checks.
